Children love animals and Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to noon there will be an opportunity to interact with animals in a safe environment with Joan Vargas, volunteer coordinator for Pope Memorial Humane Society.

She will be bringing animals looking for a forever home and answering questions about animals and how to keep them healthy and happy.

There will also be information on the work of the Pope Memorial Humane Society and how to help them care for the unwanted and homeless animals of Knox County. At a previous visit one family adopted one of the visiting kittens so it would be wise to prepare for the cuteness.

All programming at the Coastal Children’s Museum for the entire month of October is made possible by a donation by The Country Inn at Camden & Rockport.

More information about upcoming events and memberships available can be found at coastalchildrensmuseum.org.
