Wendy Andresen will present an October installment of her monthly Tending the Perennial Garden series at Merryspring Nature Center Tuesday, Oct. 1, at noon.

Andresen will continue to present management methods for perennials in the early-fall garden. By now many plants will have already gone to seed, but some will still bloom throughout the month.

Andresen will be practicing her motto “If it’s brown (or yellow), cut it down, if it’s green, let it be.” Guests are encouraged to bring an envelope to collect seeds from the Merryspring perennial gardens. As always, the methods taught have been outlined in Tracy DiSabato-Aust’s book “The Well-Tended Perennial Garden,” copies of which, among other gardening books and tools, will be for sale after the presentation. Andresen will also be selling her dried flower bouquets.

This talk is the final talk of the summer series at Merryspring, co-sponsored by Camden National Bank and Jaret & Cohn Real Estate.

Admission to Tuesday Talks is free for members of Merryspring, with a $5 fee for non-members.
