Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care announces that Dr. Judi Valentine will join their staff to provide additional resources within their complimentary health care division.

Valentine received her doctorate in nutrition in 1995, and in 1996 completed a post-graduate internship with the Capital University of Integrative Medicine Clinic in Washington, D.C., and was certified as a clinical nutritional analyst.

Valentine will guide customers toward making supplement choices tailored to their unique health needs. She will also offer general nutrition education and other vital information such as methods to offset drug-based nutrient depletion or side-effects.

“The idea is to create an old fashioned apothecary-type setting at the Rockport pharmacy where customers can come and learn more about natural approaches to health and vital nutrient support,” said Valentine in a news release. “People are often confused about selecting nutritional supplements. And, many doctors don’t have time to review nutrition information with patients, nor do all patients have the resources to consult with a nutrition specialist. As a result, the supplements they turn to often do not improve their health and can be a waste of money.”

Customers of Kennebec Pharmacy will also benefit from free flyers listing supplement choices for certain categories of health such as men’s, women’s and children’s health, or to support specific health issues such as cardiovascular, digestive, weight management, hormone imbalances and more. These flyers will also include an easy to follow dietary component.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Judi Valentine on board at Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care. She will be a wonderful addition to our health care division,"  KPHC owner Mike Nowak.

Valentine will be available at the Rockport Pharmacy Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Sept. 19. For more information, please contact Tanya Kibler, pharmacist consultant, at 594-0888, or stop in at the Rockport Pharmacy branch.
