Susan Whalen has joined Camden National Bank as senior vice president and director of credit administration.

Whalen will oversee credit administration as well as commercial loan underwriting, structuring and approval for Camden National. She will be based in Rockport and will report to Greg Dufour, president and chief executive officer.

“I am excited to work with the team at Camden National,” said Whalen in a news release. “They have a strong vision for the organization. I look forward to providing leadership and strategic direction for the credit administration group.”

Whalen has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, specializing in commercial credit administration. She started her career at Fleet Bank in Boston and later joined Howard National Bank/BankNorth in Vermont as a commercial lender. Most recently she was senior vice president and senior credit officer for TD Bank serving Vermont and upstate New York.

“Susan has extensive experience in commercial lending at both community and large regional banks, which will greatly assist Camden National Bank in serving our customers and clients,” said Dufour. “As a member of the executive management group, Susan joins a team of individuals dedicated to providing locally based decisions for our customers.”

Whalen received her bachelor’s degree from Curry College in Milton, MA. She will be relocating with her husband to Rockport.
