Dinner to benefit Eagle Scout project

SOUTH THOMASTON — The People's United Methodist Church of South Thomaston will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The dinner will benefit Joshua Morehouse, a member of the church and youth group, with his Boy Scout Eagle project, an outdoor shed for the church. The cost is by donation. The menu will be spaghetti, garlic bread, tossed salad, and cake for dessert.

Informational pizza party

UNION — Rainbow at MidCoast and Georges River Valley Chapter DeMolay would like to introduce the public to these organizations at an informational pizza party Sunday, Sept. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Union Masonic Lodge, 149 Sennebec Road, Union. Members will explain what Rainbow and DeMolay are and answer questions. The party is free and fun and those who attend are under no future obligation to either organization.

CPR, first aid course

ST. GEORGE — St. George Ambulance will be hosting an American Heart Heartsaver CPR and First Aid Course. This course will teach CPR and basic first aid. This course will be approximately six hours in length and split over two nights, Sunday, Sept. 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the St. George Fire Station. Course cost is $30. Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 20. To register, call 372-6122. Minimum of six participants required for course.

Back to school sale at the bookshop

THOMASTON — The Friends of the Thomaston Public Library are featuring children's and young adults' materials in their Hallway Bookshop sale through the month of September. A variety of gently-used books and VHS tapes are available for all ages from toddler through high school.
