Visitors to the Coastal Children’s Museum can look a little closer at the museum’s monthly MicroShow! Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Megan Rogers, outreach and program coordinator, will lead a show and tell session with the museum's new Scope on a Rope from Science and Technology Resources. The museum acquired this piece of kid-friendly scientific equipment through a grant from Time Warner Cable’s “Connect a Million Minds” philanthropic initiative, which serves to reignite students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields through creative expression and innovation.

“We look at things we see every day, blades of grass, flowers, our clothes and skin, and see them in a brand new light” said Rogers in a news release. “Every time we bring the SOAR out kids faces just light up and you see them start connecting ideas and investigating the world around them immediately.”

This workshop is included in the normal price of admission and no registration is required. For more information about the Coastal Children’s Museum and other upcoming events, visit coastalchildrensmuseum.org or find them on Facebook.
