There will be a preview party for Cultivate's upcoming fall celebration open studio and farm tour weekend Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Boathouse, 34 Commercial St. on the waterfront. Everyone is encouraged to stop in, pick up maps, sample wares, view the art and farm products on the trail and plan for the October tour.

Waldo County’s farmers and artists create some of Maine’s best produces, cheeses, jams, arts and crafts and so much more. The community is invited to sample work and food that will be offered on the tour at the open house preview party.

Cultivate: Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail was created in partnership by the Belfast Creative Coalition and the Maine Farmland Trust in order to celebrate the arts and the art of farming. Cultivate identifies artists’ studios, galleries, cultural organization and farms in Belfast and beyond. For full descriptions, locations, hours, images, suggested routes and map, visit BelfastArtsandCulture.org. Brochures and printed map also are available at the Belfast Chamber Visitor Center, 14 Main St.

In addition to attending the preview party, everyone is encouraged to save the date for Cultivate’s Columbus Day weekend farm and art studio celebration tour. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Cultivate will have an open studio and farm tour with special workshops and demonstrations.
