Advance tickets are on sale for the annual Common Ground Country Fair, which will run Friday through Sunday, Sept. 20 through 22, at the Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association's grounds on Crosby Brook Road, Unity.

Gates will open 9 a.m. each day. Vendors will stay open until 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. on Sunday. The fair goes on, rain or shine.

Members of MOFGA get free daily admission to the Common Ground Country Fair, as do volunteers, children younger than 13, handicapped citizens and school groups (Friday only). Otherwise, admission is $10 daily, $8 for those older than 64. Discounts of $2 are available for those who bicycle to the fair, as well as those who take the train from Unity or Thorndike.

An estimated 60,000 visitors will attend the Common Ground Country Fair and many purchase their tickets at the gates when they arrive. As regular fairgoers know, it pays to get tickets ahead of time as it speeds entry through the gates. Locally, tickets are available at the Belfast Co-op; Nature's Choice and the Well-Tempered Kitchen, Camden; Liberty Graphics; Good Tern Co-Op, Huston-Tuttle and Reading Corner, Rockland; and Mac's Hardware, Unity.

For more information on the fair, including how to volunteer, visit "The Fair" at mofga.org.
