The Penobscot Bay Singers will perform George Frideric Handel's “Messiah” Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8, at Union Hall in Searsport. The group will be singing Part I, “Behold the Lamb of God,” the “Hallelujah” chorus and the final “Amen.” Richard Dostie will conduct the singers and plans to have a small chamber orchestra as well as soloists from outside the group. Rehearsals will be held Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Margaret's Parish Hall on Court Street in Belfast.

All singers who have sung with the Penobscot Bay Singers in previous seasons are invited to re-join the group, without audition. New singers who would like to join us are requested to schedule an audition at Auditions will be held Wednesday evenings, Sept. 4 and 11. Prospective singers are invited to sing with the choral group then audition after the rehearsal.

Membership fees for the Penobscot Bay Singers are $50. For this concert, each singer will be required to purchase their own copy of the “Messiah” score. Dostie will be conducting from the Novello Handel edition. Students are encouraged to audition and will have membership fees waived.
