Registration for fall classes is now available at Penobscot School, a nonprofit center for language learning and international exchange in Rockland.

The school’s open house will be Saturday, Sept. 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 28 Gay St. Enrollment will also be available at the open house to which the public is invited.

Courses this fall include the opportunity to study nine languages as well as international cooking, art, and a variety of cultural events. Hebrew and Portuguese language classes are on the schedule as are classes in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Cuban cooking, Latin American cooking for children and adults as well as pasta and paella making add a different flavor to the school’s offerings. Following a recent display at a local gallery, Chinese art instructor, Nanfei Wang, brings sculpture, painting and print-making classes to the school.

Enrollment is available by calling the school at 594-1084, at penobscot.us or by visiting the school either at the open house or at any time.
