Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents its Friday Night Film Series with screenings weekly at 7 p.m. in the community room of Thomaston Public Library in the Thomaston Academy Building, 60 Main St./Route 1. August’s theme is French Gems.
This month's series wraps up with the Aug. 30 film "Romantics Anonymous," a 118-minute movie from 2010. The romantic comedy follows the slow-burn romance of talented chocolatier Angélique (Isabelle Carré) and chocolate-factory owner Jean-René (Benoit Poelvoorde), lonely souls who secretly share a debilitating anxiety disorder. Series organizers say this delightful film is a sweet treat not to be missed.
Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Light refreshments will be served. The Thomaston Academy building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
