A Forts and Fairy Houses program will be held at Merryspring Nature Center Sunday, Aug. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Forts and Fairy Houses Day allows children and families to create forest homes for both humans and mythical creatures. Starting at the Hexagon at 1 p.m., the program will move to a red pine stand where many downed branches provide perfect building material for forts and fairy houses. A focus will be placed on respecting nature and constructing in a way that will not adversely affect forest life.

This activity is part of the series of free family programs at Merryspring. Attendance is free to all, with no sign up required. Those who arrive after 1 p.m. will be able to follow a series of signs leading them to the activity sight from the Hexagon.
