Knox County Emergency Management Agency will be hosting two sessions of FEMA’s ICS-402: ICS Overview for Executives and Elected Officials on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

This two-hour presentation is required for certain newly-elected municipal officials who have not previously completed National Incident Management System training. The presentation meets state and federal minimum requirements for officials of municipalities desiring to become or remain NIMS compliant; a requirement for preparedness grant eligibility.

It is designed for select board or City Council members, town/city administrators or managers, or agency administrators who have a community policy-making role in emergency or disaster response and recovery.

Officials may choose from a noon or 5 p.m. session at the Knox County EMA office located at 301 Park St. in Rockland. Preregistration is required by calling the EMA office at 594-5155 or by email to dallen@knoxcountymaine.gov.
