Waldoboro police officers responded to 178 calls for service Aug. 5-13. Below are a few of the highlights:

Aug. 5

Officer Jeffery Fuller summoned Matthew Kinney, 29, of Bremen on a warrant.

Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated a report from of the theft of a package.

Aug. 6

Detective Jason Benefield investigated a report from Hall’s Funeral Home of criminal mischief to their garage door and hearse. Damages were approximately $1,716.

Aug. 8

Bartunek investigated a crash on the Atlantic Highway at 12:05 a.m. James Grover Jr., 19, of Newcastle was traveling south on Atlantic Highway in a 2005 Honda sedan. Grover lost control trying to avoid a deer and the car went off the road and rolled over. There were possible injuries to a passenger, Jerimiah Hogan.

Benefield arrested Jason Hall, 42, of Hope for operating under the influence.

Aug. 9

Fuller investigated a report of burglary.

Aug. 10

Fuller investigated a report of a theft.

Joslyn arrested Lance Kenyon, 20, of Nobleboro for criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Aug. 11

Fuller investigated a report of a burglary with approximately $200 taken.

Fuller investigated a report of criminal mischief — a rock thrown through a window.

Fuller investigated a crash on the Atlantic Highway at 1:51 p.m. The two vehicle accident involved a 2012 Toyota sedan and a 2010 Ford pickup truck. One vehicle was stopped to make a left turn and was struck from behind. One passenger was transported to the hospital by LifeFlight.

Aug. 12

Officer Bartunek summoned Ashley Ward for unregistered motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.

An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.
