A selection of studies by Barbara Ernst Prey for her finished paintings will go on view Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Calderwood Gallery of Blue Water Fine Arts, Main Street/Route 131 in the village. The show will run concurrently with the artist’s annual exhibit, “East Meets West,” through Aug. 31.

This exhibit offers insight into the painterly process, as many of the related paintings are included in “East Meets West.” Also in the studies show is the study for the painting “Hydrangeas,” now on view at the newly opened Bush Presidential Center and Library in Dallas; and the study for “The Collection,” seen around the world this summer as the cover image for invitations sent out by every United States Embassy and U.S. Ambassador worldwide for their Independence Day celebrations.

Blue Water Fine Arts is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information, call 372-8087 or visit BlueWaterFineArts.com.
