Waldoboro police officers responded to a disturbance during the Waldoboro Fire Department's 175th celebration Aug. 10.

During the parade at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in front of the VFW Hall on Mill Street.

According to a statement released by the police department, Lance Kenyan, 20, of Nobleboro threatened another man who was walking along the street watching the parade with his daughter.

Police Chief William Labombarde said in a press release that Kenyan displayed a knife during the incident, and was arrested without incident by Officer Jeremy Joslyn and Officer Tom Bartunek.

Kenyan was charged with felony criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon — a Class C crime. He has been released from Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset on $500 cash bail.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
