P.A.W.S. Animal Adoption Center is organizing this year’s Camden Windjammer Festival’s Sea Dog Show on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. at the Camden Harbor Park. The show begins at 11 a.m. There is a $5 registration fee per dog to participate in the events at the show. Come at 10 a.m. and do a trial run through the obstacle course following registration.

Registration forms are available at pawsadoption.org or at the Camden Windjammer Festival website at camdenwindjammerfestival.org.

Dress up the dog to reflect the nautical theme of the day. Is she big? Is he small? Tails and ears the longest or the shortest? Find out by participating in the beauty contest. Run the dog through the obstacle course and see who is the fastest of them all.

There will also be a People’s Choice Award. Names of dogs participating in the dog show events will be on display with receptacles for donations to P.A.W.S. The dog “earning” the most money will win the People’s Choice Award. P.A.W.S. encourages the dog participants, with their owners, to lobby the crowd for support. The winner will be announced at the end of the show.

Judges for the “beauty contest” and the obstacle course are Karen Brace, membership services manager for the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce; Heidi Neal, owner Loyal Biscuit; and Ginny Ryan, co-owner of Adventure Advertising.

Prizes are being generously provided by the Loyal Biscuit Co. with locations in Rockland, Camden and Belfast and Maine Dog located in Camden.
