Join massage therapist and yoga instructor Brita Light for an introductory chair yoga class, offered Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Picker Family Resource Center, located on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus.

During the four-week series, participants will practice gentle stretching and movement, learn breathing techniques for relaxation and have the opportunity to take part in group discussions about living with chronic pain.

Light is a registered nurse with experience working in hospitals, physician’s offices and clinics. She believes in taking a holistic approach to health, and has completed training to become a licensed massage therapist and yoga instructor as well. Light has years of experience teaching yoga classes to those with arthritis, asthma, cancer, chronic pain, depression, heart disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s. She teaches classes and holds private sessions in Camden, Cape Cod, New Jersey and California.
