Camden Public Library, in conjunction with the Owl & Turtle Bookshop, will host the eighth annual Children’s Book-Fair-by-the-Sea Saturday, Aug. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. This celebratory event for children, families and lovers of children’s books will feature local authors and illustrators. Readings, activities, and presentations of their work will take place in the library rotunda every 20 minutes. The book fair itself will be held in the Picker Room, with opportunities to meet authors and illustrators and to purchase books to have personally signed.
Participants will include Jamie Hogan, illustrator of “Here Come the Humpbacks”; Ellen Potter, whose newest book is “Otis Dooda: Strange but True”; Betsy Thompson, winner of Maine’s 2013 Lupine Honor Award for “Eggs 1, 2, 3”; Stephen Costanza, writer and illustrator of “Vivaldi and the Secret Orchestra”; and Hazel Mitchell, whose newest illustrated book is “One Word Pearl.” For further information, contact Amy Hand at the library, 236-3440.
