Our pet picks of the week are Bonnie and Squeaky. Bonnie is a very loving and energetic 2-year-old Black and Tan Coonhound. She loves people and gets along with most dogs. Bonnie is very playful and loves to hang out with her people. She will make a wonderful family dog for the active, doting family.

Squeaky is a cute little, 1-year-old pet rat. Contrary to popular belief, rats actually make great pets and are really fastidious about keeping themselves well-groomed. If socialized early, rats like human interaction and can be quiet, loving and playful. Squeaky likes to be held. She is a curious little critter who is very entertaining and has an endearing personality. If you are interested in adopting a rat, stop by and check out Squeaky. We also have two male rats available for adoption.

For all of our friends on Vinalhaven or those looking for a ferry ride and some fun, head on over to Vinalhaven this weekend, Saturday Aug. 10 for the annual Pet Show to benefit PMHSKC. There's plenty to do: silent auction, lawn sale, pet portraits, baked goods and more. We appreciate the support of this kind and generous community.
