Merryspring Nature Center will host a free program focusing on constructing terrariums and herbariums out of recycled materials Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Guests attending this event will be able to create their own "micro-ecosystems" out of recycled 1- or 2-liter plastic bottles brought from home. Seeds, soil, and gravel will be provided.
The second part of the program will allow children and families to create their own herbarium — picking and pressing wildflowers.
This program is part of the Free Family Programs series at Merryspring. This series offers free, family-friendly activities on select Sunday afternoons. Guests of all ages should meet outdoors at the Hexagon at 1 p.m.
