Camden Civic Theatre will open its summer production of “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown” Friday, Aug. 9, for a two-weekend run at the Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. through Aug. 18.

Cast as Charlie Brown is well-known Midcoast actor Scott Anthony Smith. Returning as Lucy is Rachel Heard, last seen as Luisa in “The Fantasticks.” Also returning to the opera house stage is Richard O'Malley as Snoopy, Taylor Lavoie as Sally, Nick Greer as Schroeder and Faith Stevens as Frieda. New to Camden Civic Theatre is Ian Doran, who will be appearing as Linus.

The production is the newest version of the Charles Schultz classic and is being directed by both Joani Mitchell and Paul Aron Weintraub with set and costume designs provided by Anna Grigo and stage management by Sam Bruce.
