New oil and soft pastel paintings by South Bristol artist Sally Loughridge will hang throughout August at the Archipelago shop of the Island Institute, 386 Main St.

Loughridge has exhibited in Archipelago for 12 years. In 2008, she had a solo show, “Coastal Edges,” in the Archipelago Fine Arts Gallery. In 2010, she returned to the gallery as part of “Monhegan Perspectives III,” a show by a small group of Monhegan lovers and painters.  She teaches soft pastel painting privately, as well as creating original jewelry designs based on nature's palette.
