The annual Aldermere Farm Art Show and Sale is set for Saturday, Aug. 10, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the farm, 20 Russell Ave. The popular event showcases how many local artists have captured the beautiful pastoral vistas of this conserved farm along with the coveted Belted Galloway cattle in the fields

“People are amazed at the variety of painting styles and content, and especially how the cows are portrayed … from Beltie calves running and jumping in the field, to the classic image of the herd in the field with Lily Pond and the Camden Hills in the background,” said Aldermere Farm Program Manager Sarah Post.

The show also will have paintings of Maine coastal scenes and, new this year, scenes of the Erickson Fields Preserve located on Route 90 in Rockport. With Maine Coast Heritage Trust owning and managing Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields, as well as helping to conserve many treasured coastal areas of Maine, having all these landscapes as a part of the show is important.

Last year’s show had more than 400 pieces from 60 artists and a similar showing is expected this year. The event is a fundraiser that helps support the work that MCHT does at Aldermere Farm with youth programs and other outreach efforts that help educate about the importance of land conservation and sustainable agriculture. Beltie retail items and beef will also be available for purchase at this free event. For more information, contact the farm at 236-2739 or
