The Monday night blues series at Time Out Pub, 275 Main St., continues Monday, Aug. 12, from 7 to 10 p.m. with Anthony Gomes. Admission is $15.

Toronto-born singer/guitarist Gomes has become a Midcoast favorite. The ax-wielding, soulful blues-writing powerhouse was last in town this spring for a two-night stand and he played the 2012 North Atlantic Blues Festival. His mother is from Quebec City and his father is Portuguese, but he has embraced this most American of musical forms. His latest album, “… Before The Beginning,” offers a powerful collection of unplugged compositions.

The series continues Aug. 19 with Johnny Rawls ($10); (Friday, 6 p.m.) Aug. 23, Lucky Peterson ($15); Aug. 26, Mississippi Heat ($15); and (Wednesday) Aug. 28, Charlie A'Court ($10). There will be no show on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 2. For more information, visit
