Midcoast Solid Waste Corp. recently received a batch of poor quality yellow trash bags and Manager James Guerra said in a press release the bags may be exchanged at the transfer station until the situation is resolved.
"Both the large and small bags have intermittent failures in the quality of the seam strength in bags we have purchased from our vendor. It seems the welds on the bottom and sides of some bags let go when fully loaded with garbage. I recommend that you check your bags before using or placing in a container to prevent a spill from occurring," Guerra said.
In the meantime, bags, required for trash disposal at MCSW, may be traded for replacements at the transfer station.
"Again, we appreciate your patience as we attempt to find the best solution for our bags to better serve our customers. Thank you," Guerra said.
