During the month of August, Spectrum Generations Knox Community Center, 61 Park St. is offering a summer seminar series titled You and Your Home: Where the Home Energy Efficiency Story Begins.
On Monday, Aug. 12, at 10 a.m. Energy expert Paul Kando will walk seminar participants through a home energy audit, and will review home energy efficiency improvement techniques that owners of existing houses should know.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. learn more about solar energy options for from John Luft, shop manager for ReVision Energy as he leads a discussion on the best uses and current available options for solar hot water and grid-tied solar electric systems, including solar applications, system costs, what makes for an ideal solar site, system reliability, current incentives, and return on investment.
On Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. Les Fossel, Old Homes Restoration, will discuss some simple, straightforward ways to help keep old houses warm throughout winter.
A participation fee of $5 is asked for each seminar and advanced registration is required by calling 596-0339.
