Landing Gallery, 8 Elm St., invites the public to a First Friday opening reception Aug. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. “Suggestion: Landscape,” featuring 55 new paintings by Irma Cerese, is her 10th solo show in Rockland and the artists will be present during the reception.

Color relationships and the effect they create are the underlying foundation of Cerese's work. Her paintings explore the use of color as a means to develop a visual dialogue with emotional feelings, creating a compelling visual experience in its own right.

The exhibit will continue through Sept. 22. Gallery hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 594-4544 or visit
