Local artist Carolyn Whitaker will exhibit a collection of 50 paintings, including 28 new oil paintings, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 2 through 4, at Watt Hall, Main Street/Route 1. Show hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be an opening reception Thursday, Aug. 1, from 4 to 7:30 p.m.

Whitaker has been oil painting for five years, and this is her fourth exhibition. She has studied painting locally with Nat Lewis, Tina Ingraham, Ronald Frontin and Colin Page. Her subjects range from birds to bridges; and from the sewing basket to Midcoast harbors.
