The Cushing Historical Society’s Arts in the Barn series Continue in August with the work of Midcoast native Mac Economy. The public is invited to a 6 to 8 p.m. reception Friday, Aug. 2 at the Society’s barn at 17 Hathorn Point Road. The show will continue Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 4, from noon to 4 p.m.
Economy is a professional musician and guitar instructor who operates the K2 Music musical instrument store in Camden. He began painting abstract art as a new creative outlet only five years ago and has gotten much local attention. Economy’s art focuses on deep texture with strong color contrasts, using acrylics and mixed media.
