Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents its Friday Night Film Series with screenings weekly at 7 p.m. in the community room of Thomaston Public Library in the Thomaston Academy Building, 60 Main St./Route 1. July features Woody Allen films.

This month concludes July 26 with "Midnight in Paris," a 94-minute movie from 2011. In this charming romantic comedy, legendary director Allen focuses his lens on an engaged young couple whose experiences traveling together in Paris make them begin to question the kind of life they want to live. The movie, which series host Erica Pfander calls truly joyful, is about a young man’s great love for a city, Paris; and the illusion that a life different than his own would be much better.

Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Light refreshments will be served. The Thomaston Academy building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
