The summer weekend shape note is set for Friday through Sunday, July 26 through 28, in Bristol and Union. This annual singing weekend occurs on the Saturday before the last Sunday in July.

The weekend will open Friday at 7 p.m. with a singing at the Bristol Mills Masonic Hall on Route 130. Singers should bring their “red” and “beige” books.

The 11th annual Maine All Day Singing runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Old Town House on Town House Road/Route 235 in Union. “The Sacred Harp,” 1991 Denson edition, will be used and books will be available for loan or purchase. Dinner will be held on the grounds.

The fourth annual American Vocalist Singing is set for Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., also at the Old Town House in Union. Singing will be from “The Sacred Harp,” “Shenandoah Harmony” and the shape note version of the “American Vocalist.”
