A long-time Midcoast resident has started a consulting business, following several years of directing the promotional efforts of companies in the greater Rockland area.

Gordon Page Marketing & Public Relations was created by Gordon Page Sr. of Owls Head. Page was most recently the vice president and director of passenger operations at Maine Eastern Railroad, a short-line railroad that runs between Brunswick and Rockland.

With a focus on small businesses, Page will assist privately owned companies and nonprofit organizations with media research; marketing plans; sales training; networking support; copywriting and publicity.

Page has more than three decades of senior level management experience with an emphasis on marketing, sales, public relations and community outreach. His career has included responsibilities in diverse industries including food processing; broadcast and cable media; hospitality; tourism and transportation.

In addition to being a member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Rockland, Page is currently a board member of Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and a past board president of the former Rockland-Thomaston Area Chamber of Commerce.

With his company motto: “One can ignore the need to promote one’s organization; or one can embrace it,” Page said he encourages all businesses to develop a consistent message about their products and services and to communicate that message in thoughtful and creative ways.
