Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance will host The Hotsy Totsy, a 1920s-themed literary party, Saturday, Aug. 17, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at the home of best-selling author Tess Gerritsen. The afternoon bash at Gerritsen’s stunning seaside joint will be replete with talk, tunes and giggle water.

Special guest authors will include an international bestseller, not one but two winners of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and a National Book Award winner. The swank crowd includes Richard Blanco, Sarah Braunstein, Brock Clarke, Susan Conley, Ron Currie, Jr., Paul Doiron, Richard Ford, Lily King, Roxana Robinson, Lewis Robinson, Richard Russo, Lily Tuck, Monica Wood and Gerritsen.

The goal of The Hotsy Totsy is not only to have a heck of a good time, but also to raise funds to further the MWPA’s seminars, writing retreats, programs, scholarships to its writing programs, its publications, subsidize student memberships, further its website development and offer more free statewide programs and activities.

The Hotsy Totsy is sponsored by Coffee By Design, Down East Magazine, Koya Leadership Partners, Pilk Events & Designs, Yankee Ford, Rockland Ford, Brunswick Ford and Your Write Mind.
