The Monday night blues series at Time Out Pub, 275 Main St., continues Monday, July 29, from 7 to 10 p.m. with dance fan fave Professor Louie & the Crowmatix. Admission is $10.

The multiple Grammy-nominated (for “Whispering Pines”) Professor Louie & The Crowmatix hail from Woodstock, N.Y., and came into existence preparing songs for Aaron “Professor Louie” Hurwitz' studio productions for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame group The Band. They also are the backing group for solo CDs by Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix started touring and recording their own music in 2001. Hurwitz was inducted into the South Canadian Blues Society Hall Of Fame. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix were inducted into the International Blues Hall Of Fame New York Chapter, the only group to have that honor. Local fans know they bring a danceable mix of timeless blues, rock, country and New Orleans-influenced originals.
