A Creations and Crustaceans Workshop is set for Friday, July 26, to help the Coastal Children’s Museum prepare its float for the 66th annual Maine Lobster Festival parade. Participants will be making lobster-themed art and decorations from 11 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 2 p.m. with the museum’s summer art intern Johnny Cherichello. They also can sign up to march in the parade with the museum.

The parade theme this year is Lobster Art! Paint it! Sing it! Sculpt it! Draw it! — a perfect fit for the museum. Workshop attendees will be donning paint shirts and waving a brush or two, so play clothes are recommended. Included in the price of admission, this workshop is drop-in; no registration is required, and children may decorate for as much time as they like.

Coastal Children’s Museum is located at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St. For more information, email info@coastalchildrensmuseum.org or call 596-0300. Details about the museum, upcoming events and memberships available can be found online at coastalchildrensmuseum.org or the Facebook page.
