The Farnsworth Art Museum will host a week-long Art for Creative Kids Monday through Friday, July 29 through Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum’s Gamble Center for Education, at the corner of Grace and Union streets.

The workshop will provide children ages 8 to 12 with a strong foundation of artistic skills including color understanding, line variety and what makes a strong composition. Weather permitting, the group will work outside and make visits to the museum and local galleries. Each session will end with a positive critique of the day’s work, which parents are invited to attend. Students should come with a bagged lunch.

Instructor Kristine Biegel is an experienced teaching artist who works with artists of all ages and abilities and believes in the power of arts to further learning in all aspects of our lives. Trelawney O’Brien will be a studio assistant.

The fee for this program is $260, $210 for members. A second session held Aug. 12 through 16 for the same cost. For more information or to sign up, call 596-0949 or visit farnsworthmuseum.org/education.
