On Friday, July 19, Rock City Cafe's Velvet Lounge will presents Algorithm, an electro-acoustic duo comprised of Mike Whitehead on trumpet and flugelhorn; and Tom Luther, keyboards, experienced jazz performers who employ their improvising skills in the context of modern electronica and ambient music. They will be joined by Jacob Fricke, performing spoken word. The music will play from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rock City Cafe, 316 Main St.

On Saturday, July 20, also form 7 to 9 p.m., Midcoast singer/songwriter Colin Nelson will perform. Neslon has been compared to Dave Matthews Band, DISPATCH, Citizen Cope, The Black Crowes and the Zac Brown Band. He sings originals and a few covers.
