Our pet pick of the week is Apple Jack, a 1-year-old, neutered male Jack Russell Terrier mix. Apple Jack came all the way from California with 15other small dogs in hopes of finding a chance at a home in Maine. Of course, local dogs are our priority but when our kennels are open, we extend a helping hand to those in need be it local shelters, ones further down the road a piece or even as far away as the West coast. We were happy to welcome Murphy, a handsome, friendly 2-year-old Corgi mix, and fellow shelter dog Zoe, to alleviate the overcrowding in another Midcoast shelter. Saving lives and creating families. That's why we are here.

No need to transfer in cats, we have plenty right here in our own community. We have well over 100 at the shelter. We'd like to get them in homes sooner rather than later. When you adopt an adult feline companion during the month of July, we'll let you decide the adoption fee! Don't worry our adoption standards haven't changed. Only now you'll have the opportunity to put your own price on love!

Time for an oil change? Rockport Automotive will donate $5 from each oil change for the month of July to the PMHSKC as part of their Giving Back in the Community Program. Call 236-2431 and schedule an oil change and support Giving Back in the Community.

Thank you to Rockland Hannaford for their donation of $1,000 to PMHSKC as part of their grand re-opening celebration. We appreciate their support with this very generous gift and their support throughout the year with their Clynk bottle return program that allows us to earn funds and the sale of their pet care packages in the fall that help us feed all our animals.

Can you help? We are down to our last cans of cat food and have a shelter full of cats who like their wet food. In this heat, their tummies tolerate chicken or turkey pate style the best. We appreciate your support in helping us feed the multitudes. Thank you!

Wish list. Laundry detergent, canned cat food, leashes, stamps, large garbage bags, paper towels, rice.
