Michael Good Gallery, long-known for innovative work, will put the spotlight on three jewelers who push the envelope in contemporary design during its annual Summer Celebration Thursday, July 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at 499 Main St.

Featured in this special show will be the work of two American artists, Jacob Albee and Wesley Glebe; alongside the work of the iconic German studio Atelier Zobel, which is spearheaded by goldsmith Peter Schmid.

Albee’s modern, freeform jewelry combines precious metals and gems with such surprising materials as prehistoric Gibeon meteorite, rubber and wood. Atelier Zobel creates bold, architectural pieces featuring exceptional gems set into sculptural gold and oxidized silver forms. Completing the show will be small carved-rock face sculptures by American jeweler Glebe, tiny talismans that create as much character and feeling as possible, with as few cuts as possible.

Complimentary wine and light refreshments will be served during the evening party. The special show will continue throughout the summer. Michael Good Studio, located up the road from the gallery, on Route 1 in Rockport, will be a stop on the upcoming Midcoast Maine Arts and Artisans Tour the weekend of July 26, 27 and 28; For more information, visit artisanstour.org.
