Union Fair President Ron Hawes and Entertainment Committee member Abraham Knight have announced the inaugural Union Fair Talent Show. All talents — singing, juggling, band, music, comedy and more — are encouraged.

Auditions will start on the first Saturday of the Fair, Aug. 17, at noon in the Entertainment Center. The roster of performers will be narrowed to 10 on the first day. On Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. on the Grandstand, the 10 semifinalists will to five finalists and, finally, the winner. Grand prize is $500 in cash and/or prices.

Applications are limited to 25 and must be received no later than Saturday, Aug. 10.
