22nd annual Gardens in the Watershed tour

The Georges River Land Trust Gardens in the Watershed tour is Sunday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. This year’s tour highlights how to live sustainably off the land as well as showcases lovely flower gardens.

House & Garden Tour is July 18

CAMDEN — On Thursday, July 18 the Camden Garden Club’s 66th annual House & Garden Tour invites longtime fans as well as those just now discovering Maine’s Midcoast to visit six lovely homes and gardens in beautiful settings. Some are expansive with lots of glass for taking in long views. Others illustrate how traditional architecture and modern comforts can be seamlessly blended. All have inviting landscaping and gardens for wandering.

Tickets can be purchased ahead of the day for $25, online or in Camden at Surroundings and Whitehall Inn, in Rockport at Plants Unlimited, and Hoboken Gardens; in Belfast at Brambles; in Waldoboro at Moose Crossing. Tickets the day of the tour will be $30, at the Maine Sport parking lot on Route 1, Camden, and the Camden Hills State Park, Route 1, north of Camden. On the day of tour, no credit cards will be accepted.

Register now for Conservation Bus Tour of Knox County

On Saturday, Aug. 10, the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation Bus Tour will hit the road. This year's tour puts the spotlight on four unique sites in Knox County. Participants see conservation practices in action, glean tips on how to apply them at home, learn about the benefits of local foods and farmland preservation, and enjoy the view as the tour travels through the Midcoast.

The day's itinerary includes stops at Herring Gut Learning Center in Port Clyde, Hatchet Cove Farm in Warren, Glendarragh Lavender in Appleton, and Hope Orchards.
