The 13th summer of sailing and racing for St. George youngsters will see close to 70 girls and boys from 9 to 15 years old learning to tack, reach and run in Tenants Harbor.

Three two-week sessions (July 8-19; July 22-Aug. 2; and Aug. 5-16 for beginners in the mornings and more experienced sailors in the afternoons will begin at the Blueberry Cove Camp and continue on the St. George Community Sailing Foundation’s four floats in the harbor and on its 22 boats.

High point for this season include sending several crews to Rockland’s Red Jacket Regatta on July 28 and home-and-home racing with Rockland Community Sailing on Aug. 1 and 8.

In addition, the foundation will offer a Sunfish sailboat for sale for $500 on Saturday, July 20, at the Annual St. George Days and will sell up to 200 $10 raffle tickets for a Chuck Paine painting, "New Morning," with the winner to be drawn on Friday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. at the East Wind Inn in Tenants Harbor.
