New Era Gallery on Main Street will open “Midsummer 2013” Saturday, July 13, with an artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The show will feature paintings by Patricia Kennan, pottery by George Pearlman and photography by Joan Wright.

Kennan divides her studio time between Vinalhaven, Wisconsin and her native Ireland.  Her rich land- and seascape oils speak of deep connection with memory and place. Pearlman’s porcelain pottery, included in the Smithsonian’s 2013 American Crafts show, combines a romantic sensibility with a contemporary and expressionistic use of color and pattern. Wright’s recent photography demonstrates her enduring interest in the mystery and reflective qualities of water.

The exhibition will run through July 31. Summer gallery hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 863-9351 or visit neweragallery.com.
