Come journey into the center of the Earth with the Mad Science Dig Into Science Show on Thursday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St./Route 220.

Expect high temperatures of 12,600 degrees and to dig about 6,378 kilometers to the center of the earth. OK, maybe participants can’t make the voyage through the earth’s crust and mantle, but they sure can take the journey with their minds.

Learn about the layers of the earth by turning an audience member into an Earth Layer Cake. Prepare to be amazed with a geyser simulation and learn why stalagmites are so cool, even watch some grow. Learn about what makes plate tectonics shift and feel the earth move. Watch a volcanic explosion.
