“Art to Collect Now,” an exhibition of work in the Center for Maine Contemporary Art’s 36th annual Benefit Art Auction, will open with a free, public reception Saturday, July 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at CMCA, 162 Russell Ave.

The exhibition includes work from 100 of Maine’s best artists, who have donated all or part of the auction proceeds to CMCA. The art includes a wide range of media representing the diversity of art in Maine today. The exhibition will be open through Saturday, July 20.

The annual Benefit Art Auction & Dinner is CMCA’s most important fundraiser and provides critical support for exhibitions and programming. This year it will take place Sunday, July 21, at Point Lookout Resort in Northport. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit cmcanow.org or call 236-2875. Major sponsors of the auction include Maine Home + Design magazine, Camden Coast Real Estate, Dowling Walsh Gallery, Machias Savings Bank and Schultz Retirement Income Solutions.
