Licensed Maine bear rehabilitator Dawn Brown and Vital Ground Foundation board member Sally Smyth team up to speak about bears during a Thursday, July 18 talk and slideshow at Rockland Public Library.

The talk begins at 6:30 p.m.

What is happening to these wild neighbors— to Maine’s black bears — and to the nation’s symbols of the West, grizzlies? The two are the only types of bears that live in the lower 48 states.

Brown and Smyth team up to speak about bears. As humans encroach on bear habitat and vice versa, these large, but secretive wild animals are becoming ever more visible. To get to know them better come to this photo and video-rich presentation of BEARS, BEARS, BEARS.

Special accommodations for persons with disabilities can be made with 48 hours notice. Please call the library at 594-0310.

This evening is one in a continuing Thursday evening series of literary, film and musical offerings sponsored by the Rockland Public Library & The Friends of the Rockland Public Library. Admission is free.
