Local author Katherine Silva will read from her new book “Aequitas” Tuesday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St. Handicapped accommodations for the free event are available with 48 hours notice by calling 594-0310.

Silva is a Midcoast author of dark fiction, connoisseur of coffee and victim of crazy cat shenanigans. In 2010, she published her first book, “Vox: Book 1” of The Monstrum Chronicles, a supernatural horror series. In October 2012, she followed it up with “Aequitas,” which was nominated for a 2013 Maine Literary Award. Silva is a member of the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and the New England Horror Writers Association. She lives in Rockland and is working on the rest of the books in The Monstrum Chronicles, as well as other projects.

This evening is one in a continuing series of literary, film and musical offerings sponsored by the library and Friends of the Rockland Public Library.
