Back by popular demand, the second annual Five Town CTC Dance Walk will take place Wednesday, July 17. Participants will dance their way one mile from the Camden Hannaford down the sidewalks of Route 1 to the Village Green.

A rolling sound system will provide music, and a bus will shuttle participants back to Hannaford at the end of the event. All proceeds this year go to benefit STAR, an award-winning afterschool program for children in grades 5 through 8. Family, business and organization teams are encouraged to join the fun. Registration materials and pledge collection form are available online at fivetownctc.org.

Day-of-event registration will begin at 5 p.m. in the Hannaford parking lot. The Dance Walk will kick off promptly at 6 p.m. For more information, email info@fivetownctc.org or call 236-9800.

STAR — Skills Training and Recognition — is an after-school program focusing on skill development, recognizing youth as they learn these skills and connecting youth with opportunities to give back by using these skills in the larger community. The STAR program is open to students in Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport. STAR also gives children an opportunity to meet and make new friends from other schools in the five towns. STAR is offered at no cost to participants.
