Food historian, cookbook author and Isleboro gardener Sandy Oliver will give a talk entitled From Garden to Table, Wednesday, July 10, at 5 p.m. at the Hahn Community Center on Main Street in Friendship.

This program is sponsored by the Friendship Museum.

Oliver’s talk will take visitors from the bounty in Maine’s gardens to the special meals prepared by Maine’s cooks. The talk is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a true potluck vintage buffet dinner. Each attendee is asked to bring a vintage Maine dish and include a list of the ingredients and its old-time origin.

Oliver will be available to sign copies of her five-plus cookbooks. Since old-fashioned cookware and kitchen items are a favorite of Olivers, bring along an item to “show and tell” and have some kitchen heritage fun.
